  • Blog: Video capture on Linux

I hope that this could be of use to anybody out there. This is something I was looking for in Linux for recording games on video, pretty much like what Tremulous already does with the /record /stoprecord for demos or /video /stopvideo for AVI video.

  • Blog: Nexuiz 2.5 is released!

The latest incarnation of the Nexuiz franchise has been released! From the official announcement:

    Quote:
Almost a year of hard work, 3000 single changes, new developers and players, a few tourneys and lots of matches have passed since the last release.

Today the Alientrap team is proud to bring you a new and improved Nexuiz!

  • Blog: Warzone 2100 gets an improved terrain renderer

I was checking the Warzone 2100 website, and bumped on a forum post from one of their developers who has made a multi-texture terrain blend render patch. With this patch the maps will have a more realistic and natural feel, instead of tiled patterns. This improvement takes Warzone 2100 a step closer to commercial RTS war games like C&C.

  • Blog: Ender's on a hiatus

I don't know if many of you have noticed, but I haven't been on D*S or Tremulous in quite a while. Some of it was due to finals/final projects, some due to my thesis, some due to TremFusion development. Well, I've finished my coursework at school and I'm trying to finish up my thesis in the next couple of months.

  • Game review: Killzone: Liberation

Killzone: Liberation right now is one of my favorite PSP game right now. As the name obviously implies, it takes place in the Killzone universe, but the twist is that it isn't a FPS. Liberation brings in a whole new type of gameplay by making it a third person shooter, with an isometric, point of view.

Decent graphics for a free game. Fun plot, and I love strategy type of games. It has it's own unique twist, compared to other strategy games making it enjoyable.

    Campaign mode is pretty sweet.

  • Game review: Socom US Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2

Socom is a slow-paced, third-person military shooter on the PSP. The action in this game may be slow-paced, like earlier Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games, but it still manages to be very epic and intense. You play as the commander in a squad of two people. You are Sandman, your brother in arms can be chosen between three characters: Bronco, Wraith and Lonestar.
