  • Blog: Ender's back. And yet, not back

Well, I'm back. Sort of. A couple of you have seen me on during the day. That usually corresponds with my lunch break at work. The connection is horrible - they have a device that cycles the power every hour or so to 'solve' a de-synchronization problem with the DSL modem. It's...braindead. Oh well. Anyways, that means that when I'm on, my connection can hover around 90ms.

  • Blog: Ender's on a hiatus

I don't know if many of you have noticed, but I haven't been on D*S or Tremulous in quite a while. Some of it was due to finals/final projects, some due to my thesis, some due to TremFusion development. Well, I've finished my coursework at school and I'm trying to finish up my thesis in the next couple of months.

  • Blog: Bot server fixed, invisible MD5 skins, ServerBrowser ideas

Well, I've gone and fixed the TremFusion bot server, so you can all join again and play with the bots. They will be under heavy development until my project due date next Monday, so be aware, but for now feel free to log in as you'll probably see me there working away at it. You no longer need TremFusion to connect, though I would suggest you get a libcurl-enabled client as you will have to download the TF pk3s.

The server is called "TremFusion Bot Server"

Hopefully I can get the bots doing some cool stuff in the next few days.

  • Blog: TremFusion 0.9

Tremfusion 0.9 is out. This is still a beta, so use at your own risk, but it IS out. You can find more information on it at

    http://tremfusion.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=65

We are trying to get to a 1.0 release, which we are anticipating soon, perhaps within a week. But, yeah, we're hoping the 0.9 release will help clear up some problems people have mentioned with the last release.

Let me know if you have any questions/comments/problems.

  • Blog: TremFusion Bot Server Update

I've continued my work on the TremFusion bot server, and on the bots branch as a whole. I currently have the bot server up and running sometimes. It seems to currently crash after a map finishes. But, anyways, I've given everyone access to the !bot command, which will allow you to add/remove bots, etc. The major caveat to all of this? You must be running TremFusion to connect. This isn't intentional, I don't have anything against 1.1.0 client people.

  • Blog: Working MD5 models, ncurses console

Have I got some sweet screenshots for you guys today. Just to give you a little preview (and so I don't forget what to talk about) here is the list of what is going to be in the blog today:

    • MD5 models
    • ncurses console
    • Bots
    • TODO list
    • Server browse list
    • Latest TremFusion release plans

    MD5 models
Zaishaza, our reigning modeler, has requested MD5 support. A friend of mine, who can occasionally be found under the handle 'Bean' has also expressed interest in modeling.

  • Blog: Yan_test in TremFusion

Well, I've gone and made some progress into figuring out how to get the XreaL renderer changes to work in TremFusion. I've gotten the map I posted screenshots from, yan_test, working in TremFusion. Here's what it looks like:

How exciting is that! I'm about to have sweet rendering awesomeness! TremFusion is the bomb!

Well, it didn't exactly turn out that way.

  • Blog: Ender's journey into XReal

So, a friend of mine expressed some interest recently in making some maps for TremFusion. Thing is, he wanted to make them for the xreal_renderer branch. Well, that's a branch that evilchampion put together months ago that incorporates highly experimental XreaL rendering capabilities into TremFusion. Since I wanted to get him involved, I decided now was a good time for me to figure out what it would take to get TremFusion using the new features. I know it's going to need assets - bump maps, textures, new maps, etc.

  • Blog: Ender is not dead. Promise

Well, I've been gone for a while. I figured it was about time that I started some sort of blog to get word out to the community that I'm not dead, that I will continue to write at obliter8, and that TremFusion is still going strong. So, what's been going on with TremFusion?

  • Blog: Icon

Well, time for an update on what is happening with TremFusion development. Mostly it's just bits and pieces, where I've gotten stuff out of the IRC logs. Anyways, here it is

Amanieu has created a feature people have wanted for a while. Auto-record of demos for every player from their perspective, server-side. He says it works.
