I decided to give this a shot because I was a huge fan of Q2. I spent days and nights at lan parties playing this, it really was fun and it brings good memories. It is easy to install, you will need:

1.- Quake 2 install ( I got an old copy I used, or buy it for 9.99 at ebay )

2.- Upgrade to at least 3.20 ( ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake2/q2-3.20-x86-full-ctf.exe )

3.- Extract the high res files into Quake 2 directory ( http://www-personal.umich.edu/~jimw/q2/share/q2e_Buzzard_02-01-2009.zip )

And voila! The result: Its a Quake 2 looking like Doom 3 Engine! Worth the trying, trust me. Maybe one more thing, adjust your gamma in the settings menu to make it look better on your screen.

The project seems to belong to all the comunity since quake2evolved.com is dead.

Make sure you check the other mods for new missions for single and multiplayer at:

It seems possible to play this Quake 2 Evolved with this missions ONLY, so you won't need to buy (or search for your old copy of Quake 2), but you will need to try it yourself.
