Combat Arms - my first impressions

3 Comments Easy to pick up, very fast-moving gameplay. Good games are easy to come across, and easy to join.
This is my "first impressions" review, hopefully I'll come in with another one soon too. I downloaded the game, installed it, and was playing within a few minutes. In fact, I was managing to play fairly well. The game has a lot of options to choose from, and a lot of stuff to unlock. It's based on a point system of sorts, so you get more points (with which you can purchase new weapons, etc) the more you play. This is a rather cool system of gameplay, in my opinion.
Since I'm fairly experienced in other first-person shooters, like Tremulous, I found myself on top of the score list in only my second game. This says to me that this is a very newbie-friendly game, but I also found it very fun. I recommend.
Graphics aren't that great, and it is Windows-only. You do have to register on the Nexon site in order to play. Also, when I searched "Combat Arms" on Google, the third entry that came up was a site dedicated to an aimbot for CA. Little red flag going up here! However, I didn't encounter anyone who seemed unbeatable at all, and the game DOES include an anti-hack shield in the installation process, so that's a plus. Time will tell.
