From the beginning, we humans have been curious about the sky above us. All civilizations studied the stars and their relation to our home, they passed this knowledge in the arts and history. The Mayas made the first astrocalendar, the Greeks discovered planets. As science advanced, so did our understanding of the universe and our curiosity grew larger. Finally, in 2429 A.D., Dr. Philip Schloppen invented the singularity engine, which made possible for vehicles to travel through space-time bridges. Twelve years later Dr. Schloppen disappeared during a test flight of the first prototype vehicle, his body was never recovered. The discovery of the singularity engine made the distances between us and the stars less significant and reachable. For the next centuries human progress augmented rapidly as we set the goal to explore our nearest neighbor: the Orion Nebula.

Now in the year 3146 A.D., after centuries of continuous human growth and progress, most of Earth's natural resources have been depleted. The 20 billion population has made the soil toxic and unfertile, the waters are polluted and the air is barely breatheable. In order to survive, all human basic needs are manufactured and sold, aiding to a cycle of waste and need. This machine of slavery has made the owners of resource companies very rich, allowing them to create powerful armies to defend their stake in humanity. After years of market consolidation and hostile takeovers, two corporations now control everything and everybody: Alpha Bionics, Inc. (the beginning) and Omega Cybernetics Corp. (the end). These two factions compete in the exploration of the universe to find planets suitable for exploitation to grow their armies and further entrench their will on Earth. They have created special teams called the Alaris, trained in different classes of combat and support. These teams are sent to conquer planets and destroy anything on their path. Many battles must be fought and won before one company can take ownership of a planet.
Each Alaris team member has an implant in their brain that links them to an advanced sentient computer. This computer, codenamed Alice, delegates commands directly from the company's Board of Directors and tracks the team's inventory and activities. In order to function, the team must maintain their neural link with Alice at all times. During each mission, protecting Alice is always the highest priority. If she is destroyed, the team most likely will be eliminated and their mission fail. A base must be built and defended, killing any native lifeforms that are a threat. This base will provide supply ships with a location to bring more troops. Recent advancements in Tachyon energy and Plasma weapons should make this part a bit easier.
You must decide which side to join, and help humans in their goal to survive, even if you don't want to.
